All Too Much

All along it was much too easy,
your smile, too sweet,
too sweet
your voice,
like the healing sound
of music playing to my heart
how you make me blush

All too much,
all too much for me
I'm crazy, crazy for you
All too much,
all too much love
not enough, not enough

Ever since I layed eyes on you,
I misunderstood your mind
thinking you were with me,
wasting my time,
nieve to the truth,
you were using me
like a cutting board,
chopping away my dignity
the honey was sweet,
it fooled me

All too much,
all too much for me,
I'm crazy, crazy for you,
All too much
all too much love,
not enough, not enough

Only You

If I owned a mountain,
I'd share it with you,
then we could climb
this mountain, look down
on the world, and spread
our love, like a spring fountain
If I owned a river,
I'd share it with you,
then we could swim like fishes,
sweet harmony, you and me

Only you can make me this way,
only you can make me stay,
without you life's not the same
only you
don't ever change

If I owned this land,
and all its' riches,
I'd live as a King,
with you as my Queen
It would mean a thing,
nothing to me,
if I couldn't have you,
for all eternity

Only you can make me this way,
only you can make me stay,
without you life's not the same
only you
don't ever change

Come Here...Come Closer

Come here...come closer
let me touch your face
I miss looking into those
deep brown eyes,
how they charm me
I am yours
Tell me what you want

Come here....come closer
Let me hold you once again,
and feel your warmth...
you make me crazy wet...ooo please
please don't move, stay right here
Right there...see what you do to me

Come here .....come closer
Let me taste your intoxicating
sweat slowly dripping from my lips
I'm yours hold me closer,
so I can listen to your heart beat fast,
then slow as you embrace my fear

Come here...come closer
let me put my head in your chest,
keep me close, squeeze me tight
don't let go...I like the way you
touch me..touch me harder, harder
harder..oh pleeassee don't stop
Come here

Young Stud

Young Stud, love me like a stallion
I am locked in your kiss
blowing my mind,
I want you,
I'll buy you,
fast, fast, faster

Young Stud,
bold lover,
I need your swift hands,
strong legs,
tight ass,
run, run running
wild, but smooth you are
kind, thoughtful
aware of the dangerous souls
who fear you

Young Stud,
stay close to my wisdom,
and love
I will share deeply, deep strokes
never break
thunderous, rolling, sweeping
passion in your heart
soft as cotton,
I have not forgotten,
my desire for you

Yound Stud, I want,
I need,
I Love your Blood

Dare To

We have broken the shell of non-existence,
cradled, hugged, held close to the source
that gave us life, Ra, She, Ma,
and now we crawl, slowly we crawl
into small areas of protection
her brown eyes are always upon you

You have followed, watched, misunderstood,
the paths that filled our soul, our heart,
fed our mind into this unlimited journey of Life,
it's suffering, compassion, pity,
yet, all powerful road has strengthened
our spirit

Dare to create a new History when there are
No notes
Dare to stand up when everyone sits
Dare to question, to look far beyond
what is written

Dare to remember when everyone forgets,
the blood shed for you
A new journey of Life
Love this beautiful Black existence
Embrace it, walk with it, run with it,
into the Heavens that brought forth
such beauty as You

Artist Den

I see her playin the guitar
like fire, like wind, soft spoken
in my ear she sings
new artist, a star
not like the rest,
nothing fancy, just singin
from the heart, just singin
from the heart
Simple guitar, simple drums,
no high pitch voice, slow words
that move the earth

Heart of Song, how I love you
Heart of song, you belong to me
Sing...Sing...Sing lovingly
Heart of Song, you belong to me

I don't know her name,
but I know her story,
old as time, morning glory,
ohhhh the pain in her eyes,
the sadness she cries, I know them too,
you know them too, she plays 'em away
with her guitar, string by string,
listen closely, and feel her story,
feel the memories of unkept promises,
and broken hearts with a

Simple guitar, simple drums,
no high pitch voice, slow words
that move the earth

Heart of Song, how I love you
Heart of song, you belong to me
Sing...Sing... lovingly
Heart of Song, you belong to me

Two Worlds Torn, Love Hold On

I saw you sitting on a bench, in a town known to few
I saw you, big, strong, handsome,
a secret to who you are, my star

I reached out to you with such assurance,
blindly to my heart, curiosity
In my ignorance from wench you came,
was not a thought,
a world stuck in ancient hate, black blood,
filled with crazed confusion, oppression,
mistrust of those who oppose knowingly in their
colonized lives
But I love you, despite what they say
Our enemies of love think they know our hearts
As One
Two worlds torn, love hold on

In my ignorance from wench you came,
was not a choice,
a world dictated by hypocrisy, in ancient hate,
white blood, filled with crazed confusion,
oppression, mistrust of those who oppose,
mechanical lives
But I love you, despite what they say
Our enemies of love think they know our hearts
as One, You are my star
Two worlds torn, love hold on

Agony

It's raining cold, damp, cold rain,
fierce drops,
as I sit here thinking of you,
in a trance,
can't call you on the phone,
hear your sexy man voice,
I have no choice, but to leave,
leave it all behind;
but my mind won't stop thinking of you

Your caramel flavored body spread wide,
on a leopard skin floor, glowing between the
red dim light of fire,
my eyes gazed onto your
sweaty heat, your sex sweat
it intoxicates me, I breathe in

No more I say "come away with me,
so I can massage my lips against your chest",
but don't lie to me, and tell me
Disney dreams,
for I am not Snow White,
just black, black as night
how the moon loves me

The Old becomes New

As some of you may know by now; I've been writing for a long time.  I've been a copyrighted writer since I was in my teens, and have renewed my writings under the US Copyright Office again, with all the new works I write, and rewrite.  As I slowly nurture this gift, like many others; throughout the years you grow, and learn yourself, others, time, space, light, darkness, air, emotions, God/Goddess,  earth, and being; I began to appreciate given thoughts and emotions on a different level of understanding.  I guess this comes with age, and patience.  Wisdom is not a given thing, it is earned, through experience, and not by all.  It is understood by those with the third eye, I don't mean the intellectual eye or understanding.  It is innate, spiritual....words cannot describe.  Think of someone like Maya Angelou,  Phyllis Wheatley, Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, or Paul Mooney, and many others who change consciousness with words, ideas, thoughts, and actions.  I mean positive change for humanity, and respect for humanity, respect to be oneself, different, but beautiful.  So with this in mind I add one more poem for this day.  A poem I wrote during the 1980's.  Please Send me your comments, and Enjoy.

The Other Voice

She's a poet, we're all poets
we see time changing, stars lingering
pass the clouds
in silent languages, travelling thoughts
in many speeds
my mind, your mind

She's a poet, he's a poet,
we're all poets

The other voice inside,
hidden between two colors
of consciousness, another time,
someones mind
searching to be seen, to be heard,
aloud in a dim light room
full of desperate hearts
eager for love, respect,
fantasy, and desire

The other voice calling
for you to respond
will you listen?
Let it latch on to your lost
confused mind,
come be apart of this voice,
the other voice,
and Smile

What A Joy

It's been several months since I've written in my blog.  I am here in Brasilia, Brazil after spending time with family, and friends back home in New York.   My most highlighted moment of being back in the U.S. was having the chance to visit Napa Valley in California.  I always wanted to visit, to see the beauty of the earth, and land.  To smell the air, feel the warmth of the sun on my face, and you know what?  It was all that, and some.  I drank wine all afternoon, a few sips here, a few sip there, and just a bit more.  So whatever you desire to do in life, where ever you dream to go...just do it.  Plan your time and  prepare, save money, and enjoy each moment, with the joy and love of Life.  Stop saying maybe next year or next time, we know the saying.."tomorrow is not promised", and this is so so true.  Don't take time for granted.  Embrace it, and enhance each moment with what makes you happy.

Another moment I'm so looking forward to is reciting at the 235th Marine Corp Ball this year on November 5, 2010.  The thought of this event and my participation bring me so much joy.  I have attended several Marine Ball's; but I have never recited my own work, so this will be a first for me, and for many of the people who know me; but don't know me as a writer, poet, or lyricist.  So you my audience will get the chance to read this poem and send back your comments.  I want to know what you like about the poem, and how it touched you.  I hope it brings you joy.

“I Sing, therefore I’m Free”

I sing, therefore I’m Free
for liberty, for you, for me
To say the things we mean
with honesty, We fight
for humanity-We, the People
from all walks of life, sing,
live, love, protect,
and share for the children
not to despair, our generation,
our Legacy

For freedom, we shed our
blood , blood of our ancestors
who laid the foundation of this being
I Sing, therefore I’m Free
Come walk with me, as We Salute
Those before us, we salute the blood
shed, so we can sing,
I sing, therefore I’m Free

Take Me As I AM-Each Day Is A Blessing

Today, April 20, 2010, is the Administrative Appreciation week.  Dedicated to all Administrative personnel who really lay the groundwork of all that happens in areas, of politics, business, and education.  In every area where business is being made, public service, you name it, there is an administrative process that allows it all to function.

I was thinking about what to add to this blog, and I thought about old/new writings that I would choose for this posting.  It was complicated for me, because initially I thought of this poem entitled "The Catch", but then I picked through my writings, and chose two that I had written several years ago that I rarely ever read or share.  So I hope you enjoy my two choices, and send me your feedback.  Enjoy:)

Warm Nights

No lights on, and your body warm,
will make the storm go away.
With my eyes closed, no one will know,
how long I will stay.
Music is low and blue, as I begin to
kiss you, the night builds my heart.

Warm Nights will make
everything so right
Nights like this
with you holding me so tight
In the night as the stars listen
we love each other tenderly

A gentle touch will show that you care,
and all the pleasures in life,
we will share.
I am yours, and you are mine,
let's make this moment last

Warm Nights will make
everything so right
Nights like this
We become One
In the night as the stars listen
love will guide our destiny

UnderStand Me

If there's nothing else you can give,
your time
your support, concern for me

If you would peel away
from yourself and touch
part of my being...I request understanding
the source that makes me function,
stimulate, vibrate, contemplate
Can you step above and absorb,
what I have to juggle? the realities
of my heartbeat, burning blood,
or my frozen mind

Understand me and each section
form, body
Love it
Love it Well

Rain In Rio

Last year in August of 2009, I had the opportunity to visit Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the first time in my life.  The idea of knowing that is exciting to me, and I'm greatful to be able to say "been there done that".  Rio is beautiful in it's name, its exotic appeal, the beach, sun, sand, and hip savvy style.  But Rio is well known in Brazil for its dark side, the violence, murder, drugs, poverty, and it's decay. For the past three days it rained, it poured buckets, oceans of rain in Rio; causing mudslides, and homes to disappear, lives taken within a blink of an eye.  The sadness from such devastation, of hopelessness, no where to run, no where to turn, no where to hide, no place to cover, and no place to protect yourself.  I pray for those who have nothing, and no one, I pray for the innocent children.  I pray for hope throughout the world that is filled with devastation, and hopelessness, that they find shelter, food, water, and a kind heart to help them through this time of disaster.

On this day, April 8, 2010, I leave you with this poem entitiled: Discovery

Discovery

I want to know the secret to life,

like many souls before,

great paradise.

I want to know the secret to life,

like golden rivers,

and sweet sugared spice.

I want to know the secret to the stars,

in numerical calculations, that created your heart.

I want to know the secrets of earth,

which gave birth to your eyes,

your eyes look upon me unborn,

naked without a blemish or scar

I want to know the secret biology of each species,

from its thought to conception,

the strength and weakness that placed you

near my world.

We are connected to the universe as one,

come discover me.

Lyrics By Lynette G

Today is April 5, 2010, and I decided to add another post with my literary works, so that you the audience can have a better sense of the type of voice, and style I have created.  Therefore, I'm adding one more lyric to this Blog for your enjoyment, and feedback.  Go ahead, send your comments, and suggestions.  I really am interested in hearing from you.  Don't forget to pass it on.  Lynette G.

 Can You Hear The Music

Can you hear the music,
can you hear dreams running through your veins?
Only life is a stream, will you hold me close?
only heaven knows,
how much our love will grow

I've been searching for so long,
hoping you would sing
Sing this precious song,
then you wrote the melody to my heart,
that was the day, my love
never stopped

Can you hear the music,
can you hear dreams running through your veins?
Only life is a stream, will you hold me close?
only heaven knows,
how much our love will grow.

Don't turn the volume down,
let it play loud, for all to hear,
how much you mean to me-sing it loudly
Your love has captured me,
don't let the music fade away

Can you hear the music,
can you hear dreams running through your veins?
Only life is a stream, will you hold me close?
only heaven knows,
how much our love will grow

My heart is lost no more,
your song showed me the way,
stay in my life,
singing tenderly-you embrace my soul
don't let go-don't ever let the music stop

LynWorks

It is amazing to me how technology has grown, and developed within the past 10-15 years.  I remember playing my cassette tapes on my boom box, in New York, and using a typewriter to type all my thoughts.  I began writing in a note pad, scrapes of paper, you know, just simple ways of writing during my era.  Now, it's internet, and email.  I continue to remind myself that things have changed, and I must change with the times; so I'm blogging now...I will get use to this in time, and I hope my words, and voice never go out of date.  So with this in mind.  I leave you with two poems/lyrics I wrote way back when cassettes were in style.

"I Have Known Thee"

I have known thee when days were shattered,
and the sun never made it's debut,
when the moon never shed a tear
I have known thee.
I have loved thee when the skies were gray,
and the birds never flew east,
I have loved thee when the trees
never turned orange,
and winter never ceased,
I have loved thee

I have touched thee
like water running
down your cheek,
and a roses petal
forever soft
I have wanted thee
before time had a number
and a number meant
an age
before an age meant
history
I have wanted thee
loved thee
forever lives on

"I've Loved You All My Life"

I've loved you all my life,
and there's no doubt in my mind,
you've been here all the time
In my heart, in my dreams,
no one else is so so sweet.

I've loved you all my life,
Yes, this is true
Your warmth, your touch
I need, need you

I've loved you all my life,
before the moon, and the stars
your love is never too far
I've loved you all my life
been right here, right from the start

I've loved you all my life,
Yes, this is true
Your warmth, your touch
I need, need you

No need to look around
Love's right here,
and this I've found
I've loved you all my life

Unknown Voice In Brazil

This is the 3rd day of the year 2010, and this is my first blog; so I'm thinking as Angela Bofill serenades melodies, vibes, string, horns, chimes from my stereo system, in the living room of my 10th floor apartment in Brasilia, Brazil. I'm thinking, why didn't I think of this before, a Blog for my voice, my thoughts, and realize it wasn't meant for me prior to this year. It was meant now, this moment to share with you. The silent, yet vibrant, confusing, and aged world. This year will be the first of a series of written works from past years that I would like to get feedback from. So I leave you with this short poem written in 1987, called:

"Watered Eyes"

I was born as a teardrop
dripping in your heart
When it's cold, I freeze
become stiff in your soul,
but when it's warm I melt
my sensitivity into your smile

Seasons let me grow, and I watered
overflowing you...
I spread sunshine with wetness for
your eyes
we see
each other
in and out
when you sprinkle,
I wet
as we pour together
