Battle

There’s no battle here in my words,
no latest rhymes, No grooves unheard,
no styles from the latest magazines,
No E camera on the scene
Just living life warm and serene,
when afro’s made a statement,
and a real men meant it, when he loved you,

It’s the same old story,
love lost and found, not for me
Not this time around,
old enough to know better,
Life is to short for my heart not to be forever

Hunger is real, I’ve seen it up close,
hands out begging, nothing could be worse,
but change is coming starting with your smile,
there's hope in heart, hold on tight,
we’ll never be apart

So save the battle for the front line,
when the man is calling,
Step up to the plate, look me in the face,
and don’t hesitate

This moment is for real,
second chances don’t take place
It’s the same old story, love lost and found,
not for me, not this time around,
old enough to know better,
Life is to short for my heart not to be forever

So hold me close, don’t let go,
we’re singing revolution,
and no one’s gonna show
Touch me now, touch me warm,
say you’ll come home
Right where you belong

Have Mercy

I plead before you to have mercy of my heart,
I come before you on my knees,
Don’t give up, don’t give up on me
Give me one more chance to prove my love to you,
I believe in second chances, you don’t know
what I’m going through, without you

Have mercy on me, have mercy on my heart
Give me another chance, another start
Don’t punish me for my foolish ways,
Don’t punish me for not showing
my gratitude
Have mercy on me,
can’t you see I’m nothing,

I was such a fool for using you
I stand before you to judge me not on the past,
for the selfish things I’ve done,
the hurtful words I said,

I ask for your forgiveness to give our love a chance,
I’ll never hurt you, I’ll never do that again
You mean the world to me, how can I explain,
If you say you’ll stay, forever I’ll remain

Have mercy on me, have mercy on my heart
Give me another chance, another start
Don’t punish me for my foolish ways,
Don’t punish me for not showing you
my gratitude

Don’t give up, don’t give up on me
Give me one more chance
to prove my love to you,
I believe in second chances,
you don’t know what I’m going through
without you

Say you’ll have me once again
Say you need me, no more sin
Say you forgive me, I’ll hold you close
Say you love me, let’s make a toast

Don't Pretend

My life is a puzzle, with chips, dice,
a game board spinning the wheel
directly at my heart,
It wasn’t unusual that I loved you
from the moment I saw your face,
I never wanted us to be apart.

Slowly I watched you,
prayed I was your type,
hoping you’d see me
not put up a fight.

Oh..to live in such confusion.
It’s a scary thing, not knowing the future,
and what it might bring,
are you serious, do you mean what you say,
that you love me, and not just for one day?

Don’t pretend, this isn’t a game,
my heart’s not for sale,
My love won’t ever change.
Don’t pretend you got my back,
then change your mind
We only have one chance,
so let’s not waste time

Don’t pretend you’re the man for me,
then change your mind
We only have one chance,
I want you,
Forever be mine.

I have waited so many years,
to find someone honest,
to wipe away my tears,
it’s not easy living day to day,
but now I know you love me,
and that’s not easy to say
take my hand,
I'll be your friend
when times are hard,
I’m with you until the end.

Don’t pretend this isn’t a game,
my heart’s not for sale,
My love won’t ever change.
Don’t pretend you got my back,
then change your mind
We only have one chance,
so let’s not waste time.

Don’t pretend you’re the man for me,
then change your mind
We only have one chance,
I want you,
Forever be mine

N E V E R

Do you think because you
married him, and he didn't marry me,
that you are more woman than me,
because you call him Papi...NEVER!!,
not in this life or the next?
I’m not light skin, not a dirty blonde,
I’m a ghetto to global girl, straight from the Bronx
my hair is thick, and course, they way it belongs
You think because you wave your wand of youth,
you could ever walk in these shoes,
I’ve never seen a girl like you carry nations on her head,
and not miss a step, you’re the stale smell
that comes outta my breath

Never in this life or the next,
like I said,
I had him before
You can have what’s left
Some men can’t carry the title man,
and many can’t deal with a real
women, who can carry him, and herself too,
so you stay with him
‘cause I know the truth
All the money, sex, and lifestyle
could never make you a better woman than me,
I haven’t come this far, to be built on jealousy,
so you can have my leftovers,
yes, the world is big enough
to start all over

Never in this life or the next,
like I said,
I had him before
So you can have what’s left
Some men can’t carry the title man,
and many can’t deal with a real
women, who can carry him, and herself too,
so you stay with him
‘cause I know the truth

Magic Mirror

You should be with me, not in another state,

with some other women, taking my place.

How did we go astray, where are those sweet words,

I beg you to stay. What was wrong with me,

I did you no wrong, never lied to you,

never cheated, made you feel strong

never put you down,

even when you were wrong.

If time was in my hands, I’d hold it close,

to know you needed me, It’s you I love the most

Oh magic mirror on the wall, tell me the truth,

don’t let me fall, don’t say it’s no use,

he’s found another, what am I to do,

we were meant to be, this I know is true,

don’t say it’s an illusion

Don’t say it’s no use.

If I held the oceans, in the palm of my hands,

you’d be my only, my life long plan

Sing to me sweetly, sweet lullaby,

Wipe away my tears, never should I cry

Don’t say I’m no good for you, don’t break my heart,

‘cause I still love you, won’t ever stop

If time was in my hands, I’d hold it close,

to know you needed me, It’s you I love the most

Smell My Shit

Smell my shit, smell my shit
Now back up off my ass
Smell my shit, smell my shit
For you fall and break your mask

So u think you’re mista wonderful
and got what I need, but I don’t see nothin
dangling to put me on my knees
U say you’re so good, a man of your word,
But last time I checked with your
homies, that’s not what I heard

U wanna be a playa, so all the ladies can
fight, but I’m not that kinda lady
you can kiss goodnight

So smell my shit, smell my shit
Now back up off my ass,
Smell my shit, smell my shit
For your fall and break your mask

Now imma sista who needs a man
who can stand by my side,
give me what I need, not come off
with all those lies, so if you’re
man enough to stand strong and
got it going on, then rock with me
roll with me, let’s go for a long
long ride……otherwise

Smell my shit, smell my shit
Now back up off my ass
Smell my shit, smell my shit
For you fall and break your mask

Educate Me

I am blind, walking without sight,
worrying about the world, and its unfaithful
promises, holding on to the past,
walking on shaky ground,
not studying your word,
living life too fast, what a lonely path
so much negativity in my head....

Yes, I need you Oh Lord to educate me,
educate me in your word,
Lord.. teach me your love, and what it means
the world is not an answer to thy holiness
Educate me in your word, the world is not an
answer to thy holiness

We listen to the music, without your grace,
we listen to the masses, and lose our place,
teach us to hear thy divine message
to walk in your glory, in time, in space
in love....

Lord teach me your love, and what it means
the world is not an answer to thy holiness
Educate me in your word, the world is not an
answer to thy holiness

Rap Is

Rap Is

Rap is history of life, death, human stories of you,
Me, society, community, policy
Rap is breath, high, low
Rap is earth, dirt, pain, sun, snow,
Hope and pain, Rap is insane

Have you heard the story?

Have you felt the agony?

Rap, Rap, Rap like this, like that
Like this and that
Rap is revolution with no solution,
Just dancing in dreams of drum
Drum, drum
I need some Rap, you need some Rap
You need the blood of Rap

Rap is the streets, the bullshit sweets,
How we meet in discreet of you loving me
Rap is truth, lies, spies who defy my eyes,
Blindly full of dope, it’s all a joke,
Dice, spice, Rap is hype, paradise in my womb,
My words in full of bloom to the tune of Rap,
Rap is the time, of days when you were mine
Laid naked in the Sun, I’m gonna give you some
Rap,

Rap is when you were my all,
my picture hangs on your wall like Mona Lisa,
I am Mother, Father, Daughter
Rap is the beginning, the End, Sin, sleepin within

Rap is my friend, can you feel, smell the Hell of my destiny
Rap is here, yesterday, tomorrow, forever
Rap is never without your soul in full bloom

I loved you, truly I did,
but you were fucked up,
deep in your head
Oh how I believed in truth,
all the words you said,
my hands, my face, my eyes
my lips...beautiful,
but now a blind fool am I
you knew my weakness
you played on my ignorance
of Love

I loved you, truly I did
so what does it mean,
it means not what you are
a liar, a cheat, a wolf in sheep's
clothing, lurking for the infancy
of my heart, all torn apart

I loved you, truly I did,
but now I believe as the night
skies turn blue, what pain you
caused my soul will come
back to you
