Take Me As I AM-Each Day Is A Blessing

Today, April 20, 2010, is the Administrative Appreciation week.  Dedicated to all Administrative personnel who really lay the groundwork of all that happens in areas, of politics, business, and education.  In every area where business is being made, public service, you name it, there is an administrative process that allows it all to function.

I was thinking about what to add to this blog, and I thought about old/new writings that I would choose for this posting.  It was complicated for me, because initially I thought of this poem entitled "The Catch", but then I picked through my writings, and chose two that I had written several years ago that I rarely ever read or share.  So I hope you enjoy my two choices, and send me your feedback.  Enjoy:)

Warm Nights

No lights on, and your body warm,
will make the storm go away.
With my eyes closed, no one will know,
how long I will stay.
Music is low and blue, as I begin to
kiss you, the night builds my heart.

Warm Nights will make
everything so right
Nights like this
with you holding me so tight
In the night as the stars listen
we love each other tenderly

A gentle touch will show that you care,
and all the pleasures in life,
we will share.
I am yours, and you are mine,
let's make this moment last

Warm Nights will make
everything so right
Nights like this
We become One
In the night as the stars listen
love will guide our destiny

UnderStand Me

If there's nothing else you can give,
your time
your support, concern for me

If you would peel away
from yourself and touch
part of my being...I request understanding
the source that makes me function,
stimulate, vibrate, contemplate
Can you step above and absorb,
what I have to juggle? the realities
of my heartbeat, burning blood,
or my frozen mind

Understand me and each section
form, body
Love it
Love it Well

Rain In Rio

Last year in August of 2009, I had the opportunity to visit Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the first time in my life.  The idea of knowing that is exciting to me, and I'm greatful to be able to say "been there done that".  Rio is beautiful in it's name, its exotic appeal, the beach, sun, sand, and hip savvy style.  But Rio is well known in Brazil for its dark side, the violence, murder, drugs, poverty, and it's decay. For the past three days it rained, it poured buckets, oceans of rain in Rio; causing mudslides, and homes to disappear, lives taken within a blink of an eye.  The sadness from such devastation, of hopelessness, no where to run, no where to turn, no where to hide, no place to cover, and no place to protect yourself.  I pray for those who have nothing, and no one, I pray for the innocent children.  I pray for hope throughout the world that is filled with devastation, and hopelessness, that they find shelter, food, water, and a kind heart to help them through this time of disaster.

On this day, April 8, 2010, I leave you with this poem entitiled: Discovery

Discovery

I want to know the secret to life,

like many souls before,

great paradise.

I want to know the secret to life,

like golden rivers,

and sweet sugared spice.

I want to know the secret to the stars,

in numerical calculations, that created your heart.

I want to know the secrets of earth,

which gave birth to your eyes,

your eyes look upon me unborn,

naked without a blemish or scar

I want to know the secret biology of each species,

from its thought to conception,

the strength and weakness that placed you

near my world.

We are connected to the universe as one,

come discover me.

Lyrics By Lynette G

Today is April 5, 2010, and I decided to add another post with my literary works, so that you the audience can have a better sense of the type of voice, and style I have created.  Therefore, I'm adding one more lyric to this Blog for your enjoyment, and feedback.  Go ahead, send your comments, and suggestions.  I really am interested in hearing from you.  Don't forget to pass it on.  Lynette G.

 Can You Hear The Music

Can you hear the music,
can you hear dreams running through your veins?
Only life is a stream, will you hold me close?
only heaven knows,
how much our love will grow

I've been searching for so long,
hoping you would sing
Sing this precious song,
then you wrote the melody to my heart,
that was the day, my love
never stopped

Can you hear the music,
can you hear dreams running through your veins?
Only life is a stream, will you hold me close?
only heaven knows,
how much our love will grow.

Don't turn the volume down,
let it play loud, for all to hear,
how much you mean to me-sing it loudly
Your love has captured me,
don't let the music fade away

Can you hear the music,
can you hear dreams running through your veins?
Only life is a stream, will you hold me close?
only heaven knows,
how much our love will grow

My heart is lost no more,
your song showed me the way,
stay in my life,
singing tenderly-you embrace my soul
don't let go-don't ever let the music stop
